When was the TAC Academy established?

The TAC Academy was founded in 2015 as the final pathway to development from TAC Sports’ multi-sport camps.

What are the competitive seasons?

The calendar year is broken into two (2) seasons:

  • Summer (running May-September)
  • Winter (running October-April)

Where do you practice?

Our soccer academy trains and plays in the Midtown area; east of Avenue Road and west of Bayview; north of Eglinton and south of Shepphard.

Our athletes play on high quality turf and grass fields in the summer, and hardwood gym floors in the winter.

How many games are there each season?

Each year (two seasons), there are approximately 50 games. This includes tournaments, league play, and friendly games.

How many athletes do you take on each team?

We are able to field multiple teams in each age group, depending on interest. Average team size is 12 players.

What is your relationship with West Toronto?

The TAC Academy is affiliated with West Toronto Soccer Club in a symbiotic partnership. Owing to strict Toronto Soccer Association regulations, small academies must seek partnerships with larger clubs/academies, without which they would be unable to meet the criteria for entering the association. As such, the relationship with West Toronto is one of mutual benefit; TAC is allowed to register with the TSA, participate in leagues, lend & borrow players, while West Toronto grows its membership base.

What are the qualifications of your instructors? Do they have First Aid and Police Checks?

All of our instructors are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program of Canada or something equivalent. All of our instructors have first aid training and are required to have a police check before joining the TAC Sports team. First aid training get redone on a yearly basis to ensure top safety for all of our students.

What do I need to register my athlete with TAC Academy?

All players wishing to be registered with the TAC Academy are required to provide a passport sized photo & a copy of their birth certificate to create a player book. This is a passport for league play.
